The Gedeb coffee region, located in the Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia, is renowned for its exceptional coffees, which are among the best in the world. This area is characterized by unique climatic conditions and rich volcanic soil that gives the coffee beans unique flavor profiles. Gedeb coffees often exhibit complex flavors with strong floral notes, citrus acidity and sweet fruity undertones, a result of traditional processing methods and careful cultivation. In combination with the high altitude, which varies between 1900 and 2300 meters, the coffee beans here become truly exceptional.

Banko Gotiti Village, located in the heart of Gedeb, is one of the jewels of the area. Banko Gotiti is known for its community coffee production and quality micro-lots that often gain recognition in international markets. The villagers here traditionally grow coffee on small farms and take extraordinary care in every step of the process, from cultivation to drying and processing. Thanks to this careful approach, Banko Gotiti coffee has a distinctive flavor palette with distinctive notes of jasmine, bergamot and black tea, which are appreciated by coffee lovers around the world. This village thus represents not only a cultural but also an agronomic treasure of the Gedeb region.

This coffee comes from farmers who deliver their coffee cherries to the Banko Gotiti washing station. The station has approximately 780 members from the surrounding areas. Their farms have an average area of 2 hectares. During the harvest season, they bring their harvest to the station, where the cherries are sorted, peeled, fermented, washed and finally dried for approximately 12-15 days in the sun on so-called African beds. During the day, the parchment is constantly turned to ensure an even drying process.
