In 1971, nine cooperatives founded El Ceibo as a second-tier cooperative. Since then, it has grown to more than 47 cooperatives, bringing together over 1,300 cocoa-growing families from different regions of Bolivia. The organization is managed by family members of the members, who not only oversee the technical support of the farms and the production of mostly organic cocoa, but also the production of semi-finished products and chocolate. El Ceibo and all its proud members are united by their cocoa heritage and their commitment to producing the highest quality cocoa and chocolate.
